The Industry's Highest Honour
The Smarter Sports Awards are not just another industry accolade. They represent the definitive benchmark for innovation in global sports technology, a platform where the most transformative companies in the world are held up and recognised. Being named Sport Startup of the Year at Smarter Sports 2026 places StumpEye among the most impactful sports tech ventures on the planet. This is the moment the entire StumpEye journey has been building towards.
What the Judges Saw
“Elegant in its simplicity and ambitious in its reach. StumpEye is making advanced cricket technology radically more accessible. By replacing high-cost infrastructure with intelligent, scalable systems, it opens performance insight to clubs and communities far beyond the elite tier.”
In those words lies the entire StumpEye mission — democratising tools that were once reserved for elite cricket, and putting them in the hands of every coach, club, and player who loves the game.
A Message From Our Founder
Mihir Mehta, Founder and CEO of StumpEye, responded to the award with characteristic warmth and gratitude:
“This is not just a victory to StumpEye but to everyone who have helped us along the journey. An idea that started from a home backyard is now a fully fledged industry accepted product and the credit goes to all our users — the coaches, the counties, the schools, the clubs, parents, players, friends and well wishers from the industry and above all our advisor and brand ambassador Simon Taufel. This victory is as much everyone’s as much as it is ours. Thank you everyone!”
Our credibility has been built with the very best: Simon Taufel, five-time ICC Umpire of the Year, our advisor and brand ambassador has shaped how StumpEye serves the game. Surrey and Middlesex County Cricket Clubs, Oundle School, Elite coaches like Gary Palmer are among our earliest adopters. We won a global ICC hackathon. And our stumps are MCC compliant, our design and the placement of a wireless camera in the protected by multi-country patents.
What This Means for Cricket
This award belongs to every person who helped make StumpEye what it is. And it is a signal to the cricket world that the technology revolution has arrived, not just at Lord’s or the MCG, but at your club, your academy, your school ground.
We are just getting started.
Whether you’re a grassroots coach, a county administrator, or a broadcaster — we’d love to hear from you.
The stumps are set. The cameras are rolling. Let’s play.
