StumpEye emerged victorious at the ICC NIUM Global Hackathon 2.0, marking a moment of immense pride for the team. The competition drew participation from an impressive 22,000 teams across 118 countries, spanning a rigorous three-month process of multiple elimination rounds. The grand finale took place at the Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai on November 9th 2023, with the top seven global teams showcasing their ideas and prototypes to a distinguished jury, including cricketing legend Anil Kumble and other esteemed figures from the ICC ,NIUM and the cricketing fraternity.
The StumpEye team navigated the competitive journey with success, presenting their ideas and their prototype convincingly during the finale. The audience that included the jury, mentors, investors, participants, organisers and other general audience responded positively as all features of the StumpEye App were demonstrated. The event showcased a plethora of innovative ideas from finalists, but ultimately, the jury recognized the invaluable contribution StumpEye could make at the grassroots level in aiding parents, coaches, players, teams, and clubs in their development efforts. This recognition led to StumpEye being crowned as the deserving winner of the Hackathon.
The journey from a simple idea, born out of the need to discreetly place a camera during backyard cricket training sessions with the founder’s son, to clinching the top spot in a globally renowned event has been an incredible honor and a dream realized for both the individual behind StumpEye and the entire team. As StumpEye revels in this well-deserved victory, the focus remains on progressing to new heights and achieving even greater milestones in the future.
